Here are some of the friendly and welcoming faces you’ll see when you visit Southpoint Dental Center…
Diana, Front Office Manager
Diana has been working in the dental field for over a decade. When she first joined our team, she was amazed at Dr. Gustavsen’s emphasis on the importance of providing world-class service to every patient. She loves the vibe and the culture of Southpoint Dental, which are so different from anywhere else she had ever worked. Diana says interacting with patients in such a positive atmosphere brings her great joy. She also enjoys helping patients get the treatments they need, and feels incredibly fortunate to be part of such an exceptional dental team. Outside the office, Diana spends time with her husband, Kris, and daughter, Kallie Jo. Other interests include riding horses and operating her Southwestern Boutique.
Diane, Business Manager
You could say Diane has been involved in the dental world ever since meeting her future husband, Dr. Eric Gustavsen, right here at Walla Walla College where they were both students back in the 80s. Diane and Eric were married while he was still in dental school, and she took over the business office when they bought their first dental practice in northern British Columbia. Working together as a team has proved to be a great partnership for both of them, with Eric providing exceptional dental care and Diane keeping the business end running smoothly. They are so proud of the dental center they have created here in Walla Walla, as a reflection of their core values of empathy and integrity. Outside of the office, Diane enjoys cooking and spending time with their grown children.
April, Registered Dental Hygienist
April enjoys creating lasting relationships with her patients, using her expertise to provide quality dental care. She uses education and prevention techniques to provide patients with tools to improve better, whole body health. What her patients really love about April is how she always keeps them relaxed, comfortable, and sometimes even laughing! April earned her degree in dental hygiene from the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon. To better provide her patients with the most current treatment technology, she completes numerous hours of continuing education each year. Out of the office, April spends her leisure time traveling and gardening.
Heather, Registered Dental Hygienist
Heather is a dental hygienist who focuses on the importance of prevention, patient education, and whole body health. She helps patients understand comprehensive oral health, so they can make better decisions on treatments to minimize disease. Heather graduated from Shoreline Community College in 2006 with a degree in dental hygiene, earning her class Restorative Award. She continues her education yearly, to learn and incorporate new dental techniques and products backed by the latest research. In Heather’s spare time she can be found in her ever-expanding garden!
Feliza, Certified Dental Assistant
Feliza is known and appreciated for her gentle, caring spirit. She has been working in the dental field for 17 years, and loves the ongoing challenge of keeping her patients comfortable and relaxed – while at the same time handling the necessary complex setups and delicate procedures. A lifelong learner, Feliza gets excited about new technologies and products, and is never happier than when she masters a new procedure! While work is her obsession, Feliza knows how to play hard, too. She and her husband, Gene, love to go fishing, dancing, and enjoy Pilipino cooking as well. If you really want to see her light up, however, just ask about her newest grandbaby!
Lyndel, Registered Dental Assistant
Lyndel says being a dental assistant has been a good fit for her because she enjoys working with her hands. She also loves meeting and getting to know many interesting patients, who often have fascinating stories to tell. Lyndel has been a dental assistant since “heck was a pup,” which – for the younger generation – means a very long time! Her longest sabbatical was for six years back when her children were babies, but she returned to the job when her youngest started first grade. In addition to on the job training, Lyndel continues to develop her knowledge with continuing education courses. Nowadays, her time-off is filled with her beautiful grandchildren!
